For Chinese New Year we decided to take a short trip to Phuket, Thailand. Phuket is about a four hour flight from Hong Kong, which now seems very short. Spiro, away at university, did not get to join us and was missed.
We stayed at Angsana Laguna, a beautiful resort on the beach surrounded by lagoons. Our villa was three floors, with a deck overlooking a lagoon and a roof deck as well. Immediately upon arrival, we went to the pool and relaxed in the sun. After that we had an Italian dinner.
The next morning, Stella and Joe went to play golf at Laguna Golf Club while Peter slept in. Then there was more relaxing by the pool.
The next day, we repeated the same drill (golf, pool), but took time out in the afternoon to zip around the ocean on superfast wave runners. Peter claimed to have his up to 56 mph at one point.
Our last day, we switched it up. We took a taxi into town and did a little shopping. We bought an elephant statute and a statue of a guy on a gourd. After that exhausting hour, we headed back to the pool for more rest and relaxation.
We all returned to Hong Kong happy and relaxed.
